HAPPY LATE EASTER! I hope you all had an amazing time celebrating the resurrection of Christ.
Here's a scripture I found this week that I really liked:
2 Nephi 25:13
"Behold, they will crucify him; and after he is laid in a sepulchre for the space of three days he shall rise from the dead, with healing in his wings; and all those who shall believe on his name shall be saved in the kingdom of God."
"Behold, they will crucify him; and after he is laid in a sepulchre for the space of three days he shall rise from the dead, with healing in his wings; and all those who shall believe on his name shall be saved in the kingdom of God."
We had some neat lessons with our friend Carrie this week and invited her to be baptized, to which she told us that she has already been baptized. We later had a very powerful lesson where we testified of the importance of priesthood power and invited her to read from the Book of Mormon to gain a testimony of it for herself. I'm now even more grateful to be part of a church whose leaders get their authority from Jesus Christ, and not from a school for preachers.
(reminder, I'm NOT actually learning Spanish, I'm just trying to be a good trainer by supporting my companion who IS learning Spanish)
*I said my first prayer in Spanish! I felt like a child as I did it and basically just said:
"Querido Padre celestial (Dear Heavenly Father). Gracias por (thank you for) this person y (and) this person y mi compañero (and my companion). Por favor bendice (Please bless) this person y this person y this person. In the name of Jesucristo, amén"
*I began reading El Libro de Mormón this week to practice pronouncing words!
*When Sister Coleman and I go for runs she'll keep me going by yelling "Un poco más!" meaning "A little more!". Well, one time we went for a walk and couldn't figure out where we were, and when I finally saw the car I assured her "Un petite más." and didn't even realize what I said until Sister Coleman started laughing and I realized that "petite" is FRENCH for little, and not Spanish.
For my last thought of the week, I learned that "Esperar" means both "to wait" and "to hope for". Right now, many of us are waiting A LOT. We're waiting for COVID-19 to end. We're waiting for life to go back to normal. We're waiting to see our friends in person again. But let's not forget to hope while we're waiting! We have a lot to hope for, and a loving God that we can have hope in.
Have an amazing week everyone!
Love,
Hermana Bliss

*My favorite Easter present was a Lego Jesus turning water into wine that my family sent me
*Sister Coleman and I with easter bags that my family sent
*Oh, by the way, in Friday I hit my 1 Year mark of when I went into the MTC. So we celebrated by breaking our COVID-19 fast with a killer dinner and a cute celebratory sign that Sister Coleman made me (one side was in english, the other was in español)
